The First Week of Summer Break

Jun 20, 2008 18:52

It is now the end of the first week of no school, and I'm left assessing where I stand for the rest of the summer.  I actually have managed to get a few things done this week. I've started an online class about publishing on the internet, I've signed up for five workshops sponsored by work to improve my computer and other skills, and I've learned how to post to my LJ. I've even eaten no refined sugar since Sunday. All in all a pretty successful week.

I've mapped out a plan of what I want to achieve this summer. It's not overly ambitious, but I won't be successful if I don't push myself. I really don't want to futz away my time only to regret it when it's time to go back to school. I only have one major decision left to make, and that's deciding what library I want to volunteer at. It really reflects my whole quandary over planning for the future. Do I go with my strengths and volunteer for a children's program, stick with the library where I've been volunteering knowing that I won't be stressed out by working with the public (much), or branch out into a seriously academic (ie college) library? I'll suck it up and decide this weekend, so I can go make arrangements to actually volunteer next week.
