Meme from kikos-ai

01. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
02. I respond by asking you five questions.
03. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
04. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
05. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

1) What is the one Jack/Sky story you wish someone would write?

You mean apart from all the fics I haven't got round to writing yet and getting someone else to do it for me? ;) Okay, on a more serious note, this is a hard one for me, mainly because I have so many ideas knocking around in my head, but anyway here goes:

AU. The kids are rangers, with the exception of Jack, who's still as we first meet him - on the streets. Sky disappears on a routine mission and no-one has any clue where he is or what happened; meanwhile Jack finds a guy whose pretty much had the crap kicked out of him and, despite himself, he gets the guy help. Turns out the guy can't talk, reason unknown, but it becomes clear that he doesn't remember much of anything prior to waking up and meeting Jack.

Jack ends up calling him Sky, (just because I want him to, pick your own reason why) and they start hanging out, so to speak. They join forces and manage to scrape by, slowly getting closer until one day three people from SPD turn up out of the blue, wanting to take Sky back home. Sky's not having any of that and bolts, Jack just behind him, but this is only the beginning. The three people keep showing up and Jack starts to feel like it's only a matter of time before Sky's memory starts to come back and so reluctantly suggests maybe Sky shouldn't push these people away. Again, Sky's not having it, so Jack drops it. For the moment.

Eventually though, the two are found yet again and this time they're temporarily shut in containment cards as the only way to get them back to base - Jack's taken too because by this time Bridge, Syd and Z have figured that they're not going to get anywhere with Sky without Jack around, that he wouldn't trust them as far as Boom could throw them. Cue drama et cetera et cetera, until Sky's memory starts resurfacing, with a little help from your friendly resident psychic.

Jack relucantly agrees to join SPD and B Squad, although in this case they're more like the team in Dekaranger where there's no one leader, all members of the squad are equal. With Sky's memory back, Jack doesn't know how things stand between the two of them and unfortunately for him Sky steps back from the tentative relationship they had going, in order to sort out his head before he gets involved with anyone.

Meanwhile, Gruumm is in the process of plundering Nalandia and the war is just around the corner...

Damn. I want to write this now. :( Too many fics, not enough hours in the day. *sighs*

2) Really, what's with the hate for McShep in the SGA fandom? Is it a genuine "I just can't see it" or has that pairing consumed the fandom to the point where you just can't enjoy it?

Hate? That's such a negative term. :P

Part of it is not seeing it, yeah. I see them as friends, good ones, who could probably have one night stands but in terms of serious relationships... no, just don't see it. I'm not the biggest fan of John Sheppard and I think Rodney needs someone a little more together in order to balance his complexities and insecurities as well as someone more patient to deal with his attempts to push everyone away. For me, Sheppard is not that person.

As for fandom... hello? Have you seen how much McShep is out there? For example, Wraithbait is the biggest SGA archive I know, fortunately moderated with strong encouragements for beta'd stories, so there's not so much crap as you'd maybe find anywhere else, and on that site the slash section is about the size of all the other genres combined (save the general category) and of that McShep takes up over 200 pages of stories, currently pushing 2000 stories, while the next largest pairing (McKay/Beckett) has less than 200. Most of the other pairings don't even make it to the 50 stories mark, let alone break three digits. That kind of ratio, for me, is disturbing in that it doesn't leave a lot of room for diversity and if McShep doesn't do it for you, you're pretty much stuck unless you check out pairing-specific comms and those can be hard to find.

Okay, rant over. *gets off soap-box*

3) What is your favourite fantasy crossover/AU/crackfic and/or PWP story idea(s)?

Ah, AU's. *happy sigh* Yeah, I love my AU's (as you know). Well, there's a kind of SPD-SGA crossover 'verse that's been sitting on my harddrive for over a year now, but that will probably never get put up, at least not without some serious editing, because I've learned a lot about writing since I started it and there's a lot of stuff I'd change before making it available for public viewing.

There's a couple of vampire!Jack fics that I keep wanting to work on, one of which I have yet to even start, let alone work on, *sigh* and there's an SPD-Night World crossover that I would love to work on, but currently the inspiration's not exactly feeling the love and so it remains stubbornly in my head. :(

SPD-SG1. Has to be mentioned, and I adore that universe so much. :) I really need to get back to it at some point.

And, last but by no means least: my werewolf!Sky 'verse. It's my baby and I love it for a variety of reasons, none of which I'll be going in to, but yeah, of all the above, that's probably my favourite.

4) If you knew a guy just like Jack Landors in looks, personality and background would you ask him out or would you hook him up with your other friend who looks/acts/lives like Sky Tate?

Ah, I plead the fifth on that. I suck at asking people out, I just have no confidence in that area whatsoever.

5) If happily ever after in a fic is just not possible, do you rather that the characters...

A. Never get together and live with UST for the rest of their lives
B. Get together but die either apart or together in a horrific/tragic way
C. Get together with another character that they like but don't really love (IE. Sky settles with Bridge because he can't have Jack or Jack stays with Ally).

What? No happy endings? *pouts* Okay, A or C, mainly because deathfics are not something I like to read.

And there you go. Done.
