Trek-related question for anyone who might know. :) Or be interested.

We know that by the time of TOS they've developed Federation Standard as the common language, but during the ENT era would they have that yet? I mean, there's not really much of a Federation at this point to have a Federation Standard.

I can see where they might have developed some kind of Terran Standard for Earth and the colonies etc, maybe incorporating vocabulary from the major languages etc, but on the other hand, most of the Command Staff - apart from T'Pol, obviously - are either American or British: Archer, Tucker, Reed, definitely. Mayweather grew up in space, but possibly/probably with English as his first language. Do we know if Hoshi is Japanese or Japanese-American, btw? Just wondering, seeing as Hoshi is a languages genius I shouldn't imagine English would be that challenging for her if it wasn't her first language. My point, I have one, I swear, is would they be using a Federation/Terran Standard at this point in time, or, with 90% of the Command Staff - assuming they're representative of the crew, which is debateable - having English as a first language would they use that instead?
