Team Name: Villain
Show and Episode title: Fringe - Ability (01x14)
Review: I love this episode because it's a real turning point in the show. Up until this point, it's like you're just watching a series of interesting stand-alone episodes, but when we get to Ability, we really begin to realize that there's a much bigger, more complicated story going on here. This is when Olivia becomes more than just the eyes through which we experience the world. This is when we realize that she is, possibly, the most important character in the show.

And David Robert Jones, as the villain, is just so darned cool, so polite, so English. The words "hello, you" have never sounded so awesome, and yet so creepy. I love the way he forces Olivia to realize what she is. At first we think he's just messing with her for kicks, but then the real threat is revealed and we finally realize that he was, and is, testing her for a reason. The moment when the bomb is revealed is still my favourite Fringe moment. I think I actually flailed a little, because Olivia hadn't gotten away and now would be forced to deal with things that she had dismissed as ridiculous.

Show and Episode title: Lost - Lockdown (2x07)
Review: I love this episode because it's one of the many times when we realize that the island is so much more than we think it is, and yet, at this point, we still don't know exactly what it is. It reveals so much, and yet so little, but it feels like a lot. There are so many really neat, eerie touches in the episode. The sudden countdown; a countdown is creepy as hell when you don't know what it's counting down to. The black light map; it clearly shows that the island is hiding more than we think it is. The question mark; what's creepier than that? What makes you want to dig deeper more than that?

Also, there is Locke and the man we knew then as Henry. I still don't know what was really going through Henry's head then, and I don't think we ever really know what's in his head, but I was really touched by the fact that he didn't bail on Locke. He came back.
