Show and Episode title: Heroes 1.01 - 'Genesis'
Review:
Well, this is mostly for those who haven't started watching Heroes and are considering. It is the pilot for the show, and ordinary people around the world begin to discover their strange abilities. For example, office-worker Hiro Nakamura finds out that he can manipulate time and space (Japanese!Doctor?), Claire Bennet puts herself in harm's way and emerges unscathed. Not forgetting good old Peter Petrelli, who believes he can fly but has no evidence of it, while his brother, Nathan, tries to convince him otherwise. As this is the base episode, we slowly see the lives of each of the heroes intertwine and eventually they play a part in the development of each other. A must watch/re-watch!
Show and Episode title: Torchwood 1.06 - Countrycide
Review:
I can seriously never not talk about this episode. It's creepy, lurky and will make you all jumpy. The Torchwood team head to the countryside to investigate a series of unlinked disappearances in the past few months, only to discover bloody human carcasses lacking their skins. They come across an empty village where a terrified teenager hides with his shotgun, claiming that 'they' will return. In the end, we find out that there were never any aliens but just carrot-top cannibals who get joy out of human meat. Yeah, so maybe aliens aren't the scariest things out there after all, aye? Don't be afraid to watch it ~
