The second two lines of this made me LOLIRL.

Doctor Who, Star Trek, Big Bang Theory, I like.

I like Torchwood and Merlin so far.

I once had an Ethics professor who'd lived in Edinburgh who mentioned Trainspotting at least once during every class.

it is literally the best movie ever made. It has the markers for literary study there is a lot to it, have you ever watched it??

No, I haven't. Ever since I met that professor, though, I've always wanted to see it. I've heard a lot of interesting things about it.

Depends on the particular area of the UK, but I've honestly watched so much British programming that I can no longer really distinguish accents or tell that they're speaking with one... It's kind of neat and kind of annoying. However, I definitely will look for it!

I'm not sure I even try anymore... Haha. I think I end up using British slang a lot and feeling rather pretentious and confusing people, but it's how my brain is wired now.

This is why I'm thinking of moving to Gallifrey... I mean, Britain.

I am actually in the process of formulating that very thing, i have wanted to live in Gallifrey, er Great Britain since i was in high school, applying to graduate schools there

I should explain the Gallifrey/Britain thing, since it's an awesome story (besides the obvious association). Hope she doesn't get all shy and upset about me telling this story, but anyway, sheeana and I were talking one night and she was writing something and asked me "What do they call jelly donuts on Gallifrey?"

I start to answer the question seriously, assuming she was writing something about Doctor Who and thinking she wanted a more generic term for whatever they'd have that might be similar.

...however, about the time I have some answer to her question, she catches a typo and says, "Wait... No! I meant... I meant 'in Britain.' 'What do they call jelly donuts in Britain?'"

So, ever since then, we've decided that TVtropes is right, that Doctor Who is real, and that Gallfirey is Britain and vice versa.

After all, all the Stargate planets are in British Columbia.
