My life is kind of amazing sometimes
Today I went to The Grove in LA for Matthew Morrison's (Will Schuster on Glee) first ever concert! The concert was at noon and lijeyeshaveit and I arrived at around 9:30. annikaa was already there saving us spaces in the second row! 30 mins before the show, TPTB came over and told us that they wanted to move the people in the first rows (us) to the front of the stage! Awesome! We ended up standing right underneath the stage. We could see every detail of Matthew's perfection with perfect clarity. And let me just say, it was a LOT of perfection!!
The concert started on time and Matthew performed for nearly an hour. He was very sweet, attentive, energetic and clearly thrilled that everyone came out to support him. Several Glee cast members came out to support him, including Jenna ("Tina"), Kevin ("Artie"), Harry ("Mike"), Iqbal ("Principal Figgins") and Chord ("Sam"). They sat in the upstairs window of a restaurant facing the stage and waved him on. It was really sweet. Also, randomly, JC Chasez of N'Sync was there!
My favorite song that Matthew performed has to be "Young Girl/Don't Stand So Close to Me". He rocked all the sexyiness of that mash-up. Taffy and I were fanning ourselves. It was 64 but felt MUCH hotter in that audience! He sang some Glee songs, one of his original songs (very sweet song), and some really cool ones that he just likes (Great Balls of Fire).
After the concert, we went with Annika to Coffee Bean and then walked her out. I had to go to the bathroom, so Taffy waited for me outside. When I came out she was gone. I was like WTF and started looking around for her. I saw her standing in the valet line. We totally didn't park in the valet section so I went up to her like "uh, why are you in this line?" she was making complicated gestures at me and I was like "...." Turns out she was standing behind/stalking Chord, Harry and Iqbal! I hadn't even noticed them! We got pictures with all three of t hem! And Iqbal actually initiated a conversation with us about the upcoming episode of Glee! He said they'll be singing "Blame it on the Alcohol"! LOL Taffy thanked him for talking with us on Twitter later and he actually tweeted back "My pleasure!" AWESOME!
We were going to leave, but I remembered that I wanted to go to Barnes n Noble and look for Weird Al's new book (he's going to be signing there in a couple of weeks). As we were passing the restaurant, we happened to stop and start squeeing about how totally amazing that moment just was. Then I noticed that standing a couple feet away was JC!!! I alerted Taffy and we quickly moved in to ask for a pic. Even though he was obviously in a hurry to leave, he graciously stopped and posed for the pic with Taffy. She was beyond thrilled.
We did finally get to the bookstore, but the book itself doesn't come out until Tuesday. Boo! But still a super awesome, amazing day. Afterward, Taffy said to me "Our lives are so amazing."
