The Big Bang as Metaphor for the Lotus

Watching the History Channel's series the Universe
learning about the theory of the Big Bang
which postulates the instantaneous creation of Space and Time
the beginning of all phenomena that exists anywhere.
Learning that the very latest hypothesis says that even the Big Bang
was possibly just some sort of pinched off bubble from some greater Mega-verse.
thinking about those complexities of cause and effect on a universal scale
I find the Mystic law in the oddest places.

Hearing a character on another show explain string theory
which postulates that all atomic particles are made up of infinitesimal
vibrating loops of energy or strings, each vibrating at its own frequency like a note on a violin.
These strings or notes make up everything in the universe, like a cosmic symphony of "the All"
Contemplating the connections made by these strings or notes.
that have been combining and recombining in symphonies of matter and energy
vibrating constantly since the creation of the universe
I find the Mystic Law in the oddest places

Remembering a time when music and clubs were my favorite world.
When moments of motion on crowded dance floors connected me.
Lost in a sea of strangers, touching and being touched,
caught up in the rhythms, the beat which drives my body.
Feeling connected by the grin on my face and the sweat on my skin
Because of my need, my love for the dance I know for one brief moment
the synergy of being one with my environment
I find the Mystic Law in the oddest places

Reading a story in which one character says to a second character
who in the past has committed unforgivable acts which he deeply regrets
"I'm glad you didn't try to kill yourself", not because he wants the formerly evil man to suffer
not even because the first man was a moral man who did not believe in suicide
Understanding with sympathy and caring just how attractive oblivion can be,
it's both the easiest and the hardest way out of a problem that has no easy solution.
The real challenge, he says is to keep getting up and doing the best you can every day.
I find the Mystic Law in the oddest places.

Seeking to change my circumstances in which I was increasingly unhappy
stressed out about the attitudes of my corporate employers toward their customers
I knew that I should be chanting to overcome these challenges in my environment
to make changes in myself so that my environment will change
Realizing that sometimes the challenge is to know when to seek out new challenges,
when to create a radically different environment in which to evolve
finally faith and chanting take action and a new job is found in less than 24 hours.
I find the Mystic Law everywhere in my life!
