thoughts on: once upon a time (season 2)

I did this after my initial marathon of S1 last fall, so I thought I'd do one for S2 before the new season starts.

I'm really getting into the ship, but I really have doubts it'll happen. I'm pretty sure Hook/Emma is going to happen or at least be flirted with all season till Bae comes back. I'd be happy with Hook/Emma if didn't fear the writers were setting up a Emma/Bae true love crap. I love Bae, but Emma deserves someone who will treat her better. I think he left her more for selfish reasons (like not wanting to see his father ever again/or be involved with magic) then to let her for fill his destiny. I don't think he treated her all that great in the current timeline either. He didn't really say sorry, he was jerk about whole 'jealous ex lover' thing. I kinda felt the 'I love you' came out of no where. I get that the 17 year girl somewhere deep inside might still be in love with Neal, but I can't see the hurt, battle scared, smart adult Emma still being in love with him. He messed her up pretty good. It's been ten years! Sorry I'm ranting.

It's nice to know Aurora and Prince got together again, but I worry for Mulan's happy ending. I swear she's in love with the Prince or maybe Aurora too. The girl needs her own storyline. Maybe she can do us all a favor and get paired off with Bae to end the Emma/Bae romance lol. I jest.

I like to say I like Bae as child, I really don't like Neal, and I'm trying to like 328 something plus Bae. The more he moves away from Neal and back to good person he was as kid the happier I am. Telling his father off really helped with that.

btw does the naming issue drive you nuts on this show? I wish David, Emma and everyone else would call Snow-Snow not Mary Margret. At the start of the season David called her both names, then just feel into the SB names. In FTL Snow called her self by her true name. I wonder if SB's half broken spell keeps everyone calling each other by their crappy SB names. I hope in Neverland we'll see the swtich as we did with Snow in FTL. At least David is David in every land. About the only one who calls everyone by their real name, most of the time, is Regina. I like hearing Rumpelstiltskin, The Crocdile, Charming. Please no more Madam Mayor or even The Queen/evil queen, because I think Regina earned to right to be called Regina now.

I get the naming issue with Emma is kind showing how she's still not ready to deal with her parents as their true selves yet. maybe season three could be Emma calling them Snow/David and working her way back up to mom/dad.
