We have rented a car and are staying at Surfers Paradise, Queensland.
Yesterday we went to "Tropical Fruit World". They grow the most varieties of tropical fruit in the world.
The first activity was a tasting show. We got to sample over 20 different kinds of delicious fruit and learn about their health properties. Then we had a tractor ride around the property and stopped at "Treasure Island". "Treasure Island" is filled with lost of fun outdoor games like basketball, volleyball and soccer. There is a tiny train ride around the island. We took a boat cruise and were given stale bread to feed the ducks. The last activity was a petting zoo. It had regular animals like sheep, donkeys and cows but also kangaroos and emus. Feeding the emus was my favourite.
Surfer's Paradise is alot like Niagara Falls. There are casinos, overpriced restaurants and cheesy attractions like Haunted Houses. The big difference is that they have a huge a beach.
Today we went to Warner Brother's Movie World theme park. It's been raining all day so the park was pretty much empty. The rain stopped for an one hour period and I was able to do all the roller coasters before they got shutdown again. There was no wait time for the rides. I loved that some of the rides were Batman themed.
The craziest ride was an indoor Scooby Doo rollercoaster. You sit in a four seat car and go through a haunted house for about five minutes. The car then goes up an elevator and into a huge psychodelic room with techno music. That is when the rollercoaster part of the ride begins. (similar to "The Fly" at Canada's Wonderland)
Tommorrow we are going to visit a couple wildlife sanctuaries. Hopefully it won't be as rainy!
