Mumbai

The terrorist attacks in Mumbai are all over the news.  How terrible.  I stayed in Mumbai when I was on my big trip.  I've eaten in Cafe Leopold, stayed at a hotel across the street from the Taj Mahal hotel and I've taken the train at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus train station.    Cafe Leopold is the most popular tourist, backpacker and expat hangout in the city.

There is always risk when travelling - whether going to Indiana or Indonesia.  I believe that terrorist attacks can happen anytime at any place in the world.  They are impossible to predict so there is no sense worrying about something that *might* happen.

I was warned by multiple people not to go into Lebanon last month since the country is unstable and there are frequent Hezbollah terrorist attacks.  I weighed the odds - I had an opportunity to visit Beruit and some of the greatest Roman ruins in the world at Balbaack - or hang around Damascus and be "safe".  My brother and I thought the risk was worth it and we went alone.

My backpacking will contine.
