[After trying to push those memories back so many times, she can barely stand to listen to Kay's depressing request. Turning the girl down outright would break her spirit, and Naomi wouldn't be able to forgive herself for hurting the girl. But clinging to that fake life won't do the scientist any good in the long run.

Not that she isn't already holding on every single time she drops dinner off for the Inspector. It's impossible to shake all those memories away.
