[To anyone familiar with the woman, the vision on the screen may not seem so out of place, even if the video is obviously accidental. Clothed only in a black and lacy number she's taken to wearing to bed for the last few weeks (it's an excellent idea to keep covered up when her most frequent visitor is a teenage boy who can phase effortlessly

Um... Naomi? Could you--Do you think you could...?

[And she snatches the sheets from around her immediately, pulling them up to shield Danny's view of her bare skin.]

Daniel! [God, this really is awkward.]

*And she just has to be his mom for a second, using his full name like that. Bright red and thrown off guard still further by the foreign-yet-not rush of familiarity, his stuttering worsens.*

Uh--yeah. Sorry, I--I wasn't meaning to--

Just, you know, wanted to see if you were up.

Yes, I just awoke. I've been out for a week, haven't I?

Yeah, ever since the--I mean, yeah. You were asleep for about a week, just like you said. It must've been one of those 'people randomly sleep for long periods of time' things this place has. Not that you didn't know that, but--yeah, you knew that already.

*And he's so desperate to stop babbling that he says the first thing that comes to mind.* Did you, uh, sleep well?

*The ensuing mental face-palm is all but audible.*

[Naomi moves a small hand to rest on her neck, tilting her head to the side sharply. She easily senses the anxiety rolling off of the teen, which is much greater than it usually is around her.]

I've slept better. Have you been taking care of things in the lab for me?

*Considering the compounded conflict of their accidental situation, as well as the fact that he's now loosening up from the surprise enough to babble instead of stare uncontrollably, the anxiety is quite understandable.*

Uh, yeah. I mean, nothing's expired, or anything, and I rotated those cultivation samples like you said.

Thank you. [She would have been forever upset with herself if that particular experiment would have failed due to the fact she had been sleeping for too long. But, of course, Danny has pulled through for her again.]

What's on your agenda for today?

[phantomfenton]

No, uh, problem.

Uh--nothing much. I'm going out to the desert later to train my powers, but it can wait.

Why?

[scientize]

... [Oh so casual.] I was wondering if you'd like to join me for breakfast.

[phantomfenton]

... Sure? *So distracted is he by their latest misadventure, that the idea of having an ordinary breakfast with his former mother doesn't really register.*

Are we starting a new project today? Is that why I'm coming over so early?

[scientize]

[You sure are making it awkward for her now.]

No, not quite yet. I still need to complete the documentation from our previous experiments before we begin the new ones I have in mind.

O... kay. *Nods slowly, blissfully being oblivious! All he knows is that she's not plotting some huge day of work for him, but instead offering a free meal and some random time to hang out. Although it'll be weird to go over and not have lab-stuff waiting, who's he to complain?*

Give me a few minutes to fly over, then. I'm at the Church now.

Wonderful. [And so it is. Danny's delightful company is all she needs right now. It will give her more time to think things through.]
