Somewhat similar to myself. Though fully trained in medical, he's much more interested in other scientific research.

I had to get decent grades at school... I studied really hard, passed everything, and then had no idea what the hell I should do with my life. I guess I just figured being a detective was better than just wasting my life away in an office, so... I joined the local police force. They trained me up for a while, and then I figured I'd specialize in criminal investigations.
