Breakdown of my weekends during the last three months:
April
Week 1 - worked on my NRSA grant, wherein I beg the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for moolah to fund my work
Week 2 - worked on my update meeting (this is when I try to convince my thesis committee that I am not a lazy bastard (even though I am) and that I actually did some work/experiments during the last year)
Week 3 - helped out for Luke 18, a religious retreat for 8th graders in our parish
Week 4 - Drove to Chicago (which is a five hour drive from our house) Wednesday to see "How To Be", saw my wife Tassy rock out at her med school play Saturday and helped out with our church's youth ministry's fund-raiser, Pancake breakfast, Sunday
May
Week 1 - weekend trip to Lake of the Ozarks (this is a 4 hour drive from our house)
Week 2 - Mother's day weekend (so we did stuff as a family that weekend, like go to the Art Museum)
Week 3 - My husband's graduation
Week 4 - My cousin's graduation (at a college that is also a 4 hour drive from our house)
Week 5 - My husband's grandma's funeral (at a location 3 hours away from where we live) followed by a screening of "Little Ashes" that evening at our independent movie theater
June
Week 1 - Our church friend's wedding (Saturday), and our Filipino friend's wedding ((Sunday afternoon) at a location 3 hours from our house) followed by watching "Rent" at the local theater that evening
Week 2- Visiting the awesomeness that is MARY in Cleveland, OH
I potentially do have a break this coming weekend and then:
Week 4 - relatives from Chicago come and visit STL
July
Week 1 - Independence day (which will hopefully be spent floating ina pool somewhere and not caring a bloody hell about anything)
Week 2 - My cousin's wedding
Week 3 - Visit to my bro in Vancouver, BC (with potential tour of Seattle)
And then ... I die from pure exhaustion.
