Appearance: [PB: Toshiya of Dir en Grey] Starscream is rather short for a young man in his twenties, standing at only 5'7". His body is thin, making him look taller than he really is. He has short black hair, shadowed eyes that have irises that look a deep crimson in certain lights and light mocha-colored skin. He doesn't hide his dislike for other people behind a mask, often wearing an arrogant scowl on his face that only disappears when he sleeps. He dresses in dark colors for the most part, occasionally wearing the red and blue windbreaker that was part of his uniform while in the Decepticon army. Also, though he rarely shows it, Starscream has the Decepticon insignia tattooed in deep purple ink on his left shoulder blade.
Personality: Once simply an eager-to-learn young man with hopes of finding his calling in the scientific field, Starscream is now bitter, sarcastic and over-ambitious. He has a quick temperament and anyone unfortunate enough to anger him is usually quickly introduced to a hard punch in the face. Starscream has a tendency to live by his own rules and isolate himself from other people, as he was raised on the Decepticon belief that letting anyone get close to him would lead to nothing but his downfall; the loss of his one true friend only further proved this belief for him.
Given he was, until recently, in command of the Seekers, Starscream is used to giving orders and refuses to allow anyone to order him around more than he deems necessary. The position of power that he held in the military has made him quite arrogant, giving him a condenscending "I am better than you and don't you forget it" attitude. He knows he's intelligent and he knows how to make use of the knowledge he has to get one step ahead of everyone else. In addition to the number of his negative traits, Starscream is also very manipulative; he will not hesitate to take advantage of a situation and lie to get what he wants. It doesn't matter to him who gets hurt by his desires, he wants what he wants and he'll do everything in his power to make sure he gets it.
In spite of himself, Starscream does, on the occasion, mellow out, reverting to how he was before he joined the Decepticon military. When he's occupied with complex mathematical equations or drawn into the pure logistics of science, he has a tendency to let his guard down and allow himself to relax, losing the air of superiority and bitterness that typically surrounds him.
History: Starscream was born and raised in a military family in the city of Kaon, a city held under Decepticon law. Unlike the rest of his family, he originally had no intentions of joining the army and, after dealing with his family pushing him towards military training, he decided to leave at the age of fifteen. He hacked his records, made modifications to keep his family from finding him, and made the journey to Cybertron's capital city of Iacon with the intention of enrolling at the Academy of Science and Technology, a combination high school and university campus.
While at the Academy, Starscream showed great potential in his courses and a mind apparently created for all kinds of science. He was roomed with an older student by the name of Skyfire and the two of them apparently meshed quite well, as they soon became friends, despite Starscream's quick temperament and tendency to isolate himself from others. The two of them began working on projects together, both in and outside of the curriculum. As they were amongst the top students, if not the top students, they were chosen to join a team of scientists for an expedition in the north during their freshman year in the Academy's university.
It was during this expedition that a sudden blizzard separated Starscream from the rest of the team. Despite the conditions and his dwindling supplies, Starscream did all he could to locate the others, particularly Skyfire. He was found a couple days later by a rescue team, exhausted and suffering the beginning stages of hypothermia. The rescue team took him back to Iacon immediately for hospitalization, though he protested to the Pit and back that they had to find Skyfire.
The loss of Skyfire hit Starscream hard--harder than anything he'd ever thought possible. He lost his ambition as a scientist, dropping out of the Academy and returning to Kaon to join the Decepticons as soon as he recovered and was released from the hospital. As part of the Decepticon army, he rose in rank amongst the Seekers, the Decepticon air assault unit, becoming the youngest Air Commander in Decepticon history. The power of his position led him to thirst for more and his new ambition is to continue rising in rank. The only problem is Megatron--the Decepticon Commander; Megatron constantly ridicules Starscream's attempts to gain further power and has repeatedly reprimanded him, leaving him behind on more than one occasion.
Now tired of Megatron, Starscream has come to Lindell to enroll at the University, hoping that further studies will occupy him until he is ready to return to Cybertron.
