ANYONE WANT TO DO AN ICE RINK PARTY WITH ME?!!

Apparently, the Vancouver Parks Board Ice Rinks are having a holiday sale on their bookings, and you can book the whole rink for a private party for only $99!!!! It doesn't say it's extra for any amount of time, you just have to be the first one to book it.

Of course the only problem is that it's during Christmas break and I know lots of people go out of town for the holidays, but if we did it on December 27th, we could get either Riley Park (bleachers fit 300) from 9pm-12:30am or Kitsilano (bleachers fit 100) from 6:30pm-12:30am. I've not seen the facilities at Riley Park, but I know for a fact that the Kits Ice rink also has a room above the rink (kind of like the curling club if you were around those days).

In fact, it would be just like using the curling club, except that PEOPLE WOULD ACTUALLY BE SKATING. There would be staff there to rent out the skates. Haven't you gone ice skating before and thought "man this would be so rad if the music didn't suck balls"??

I've been wanting to throw a party in an ice rink for YEARS now, and usually it's $125 an hour or some stupid price like that.

If it really is $99 for an indefinite amount of time (as it appears to be, judging by the fact that some people have booked it for 8+ hours), then WE SERIOUSLY NEED TO THROW A RAVE IN THE ICE RINK!!!111oneone

So...if this can actually happen, I will GLADLY pay the $99 out of my pocket. All I would need is other DJs (or live PA artists) and a PA system, as I've asked about music in the past, they only have a one-CD player hooked into their speaker system. Unless there's a way to bypass their audio and hook up a mixer directly to their speakers. Though a PA system would still be good for the room; then we could have music in the room AND in the rink!!!

AAHHHhHHHHaaaHH! *explodes from the possibility*

raves, ice rink, party
