New TV Show Idea #1

I am a big fan of Dick Wolf's series Law and Order. In my family, the original series has been a long time favorite. Nowadays, though, the show has not been up to par, due to major cast changes and uninteresting story lines. Truth be told, the show should have been cancelled after Steven Hill left, but NBC relies so heavily on the franchise. I propose a new Law and Order spinoff to join the ranks of Special Victims Unit, Criminal Intent, and the ill-fated Trial By Jury. I call it Law and Order: The Profaci Files.

This series would focus around Detective Tony Profaci, played by John Fiore in the original Law and Order series. He was usually seen at the precinct and sometimes on the frontlines of an arrest. This series will showcase the nitty-gritty and even the banal details of police work in New York City. Here's a rundown of the first few episodes of the show:

-Profaci moves to a new precinct in Manhattan and must discover how to work the coffee maker.
-Profaci is asked to accompany the lead homicide detectives on a stake-out, only to find that the suspect left down the previous day.
-Profaci must investigate the theft of a danish he had left in the refrigerator. In a surprise twist, he had merely forgotten that he had eaten it earlier that day.
-Profaci works late distributing copies of an artist's rendering of a suspect.
-Profaci is almost late to work when he can't find his car keys.
-Profaci has trouble with his computer and must venture through the precinct headquarters to find the IT guys.
-Profaci takes his cruiser to the car wash and is given change for a ten, even though he's damn sure he gave the guy a twenty.
