There were days that she was gone that he found he thought about her. Even as he taught his studies and graded his papers. His mind always came back to her. But she was long gone. Lost somewhere between life and death. Someone that he visited on an every day basis. No one knew that, however, not even her. Even if they did say that a person can hear what another says when they’re in a coma. He’s not even sure how it happened. All he’d known is she’d told him not to worry and then kissed him before walking out the door.
It wasn’t until days later that he found out she’d been hurt. That she was in the hospital. How she was in a coma and the doctors didn’t think she’d wake up. His heart ached knowing that he hadn’t been there to save her. Even if those days were far away now… he still had the power. Still should’ve been there to save the very person that meant the world to him. Far more than any old love could’ve. In the end… when it was all over and she’d left him alone in the world…
He’d left Reefside… left everything that he’d known and found a new place. One filled with her voice… the very music she sang along with her guitar hanging on the wall. Seclusion was something that he’d needed… that had made him the hermit he was today. It wasn’t until he heard his angel’s voice that he found it was all but a dream. She was alive and well… laying right there beside him.
