It seems those of us who performed this experiment were not the only ones who became trapped in... what I will call for the time being... partial copies of our worlds.
I apologize that our attempt to escape this place not only failed, but seems to have dragged in unwitting participants.
I can only speak to my own experience, but. I was returned to the City by an unknown method once I had interacted with something Rita Mordio, whose world I was "in", identified as being untrue. Obviously, it is not expected everyone will be able to identify whose world they are "in", but I advise that those who are trapped begin to interact with as much of their environment as they are able. Attempt to engage other beings, touch or otherwise observe your surroundings.
When I returned, I was left with a frozen shard of water, presumably from the fountain... I will return it to the water basin once I run a few tests. If it is possible to enter these shards again... it may be possible to attempt a different route to returning to proper worlds...
