Wow, it has been a very long time between posts. Life has been incredibly hectic lately. Work has been absolutely flat out - I seriously don't know where the days go. I feel like I get to work and then am leaving 10 minutes later, despite arriving at 7:30am and leaving at 5pm.
My new boss is alright so far. He is still settling in, getting to know the role and the team, but he is nice and trying really hard.
This next week is going to be so incredibly busy. Tuesday night I have the child care AGM which is a big thing with all that has been happening in that space - that's a story for another time when I feel up to telling it. It has been an enormous source of stress for me lately. Let's just say the threat of a massive fine and imprisonment has been waved in front of me for something I had no idea about, and the investigation is still ongoing pending the outcome of this AGM. It's a fucked up situation :(
After that I have the service awards - this has been in the works since I came back to work. It's a massive piece of work for me each year - this year it's across two nights, next Friday and Saturday - with a $600k budget. Jon Stevens is the entertainment and Shane Jacobson (aka Kenny) is the MC. Stress! And then add that on the Sunday we are doing a massive town event for the 25th anniversary of the town/mine. Arghhhh!!!
And to top it all off, mum and dad are arriving on Saturday. Right in the middle of the the biggest weekend of my career! So mad cleaning is taking place. Not that we live in a pig Sty. On the contrary, my friends often say they can't believe how clean I keep my house (ehhh? Hard work with two little boys!). But I am just paranoid when people come to stay, no matter who it is! Inherited from my mum, I guess! At least everything that needs doing is getting done...
