(no subject)
I did three hours work at the child care centre today (as a volunteer). I wasn't looking after kids, I was helping with admin stuff. At the committee meeting last night the director, Courtney, said that the admin girl had been away for the last two weeks and was away for another week still and so Courtney had been doing her job and the admin job and was swamped. So I went in to give her a hand. I put both the boys in care for the time, because we won't be charged for it. Rhys did well, they loved having a really little bub in there and Jess looked after him the whole time so he pretty much had one on one care!
I really enjoyed it, anyways. I miss work! I went to my boss's house yesterday because I bought an ergo carrier off of his wife. I stayed and chatted with her for a while (my god their house is nice!) and she said how she misses working too. She is a teacher by profession but hasn't worked since they moved here from the US (they are originally from South Africa).
So yes, I organised the bake sale - did notes for the parents, made signs and rosters etc. I also wrote a few letter that needed to be sent and found a PDR template for Courtney to use.
So I'm doing that for enjoyment while my friends back home are all going to Bali, Thailand and Europe... Yep... Need to remind myself that I am getting my kids "out of the way" now... We'll be able to travel etc when we are in our mid 40's while our friends will still have young kids... Ughhhhh.
That said though, even though my kids test me, I love them whole heartedly. Rhys slept 10 hours straight last night! Champion! He is 3 months old on Saturday... Can you believe it?! The time has gone soooo fast :(
Wedding planning is going well. I've booked the ceremony, the reception, ordered the invitations (which I LOVE), arranged the cake, chosen the food and drinks menu... I also know what I want for decos, dress, hair and make up.
