What A Long Day.......
Yes, it's the weekend but it has been a longgggggggg day. I had to get up at 5 this morning, a little after since I hit snooze few times, and be at work by 5:30. My science Olympiad team had a competition today and we had to gather stuff and make the 1.5 hour trip on a school bus. Oh what fun....NOT! I hate riding buses, but that's beside the point.
Considering that we have missed so much school because of snow we have not had much time to work one-on-one with our team. But, we overcame all the obstacles that we constantly face and walked away with 2nd place for one team and 4th place for the second team, all of which was out of 9 teams. The sad thing is that the seven other teams that we competeted against are from the same county. I'm afraid that science Olympiad is becoming a thing of the past. No one wants to fool with it because it is so time consuming. The sad situtation is that the coach that I soooo don't like walked away with 1st place. This broke my heart and I immediately went and asked for the final results. The way that we had the total scores showed that there was a very slim chance that we would not walk away with 1st. When they announced us for 2nd place the other two coaches and I were crushed. On the up side, for the kids and not the coaches, is that both of our teams are eligible to go to the state competition. The state competition is a two day, 6+ hour one way trip that takes us two days. It's soooo stressful. The kids love it but I'm getting too old for that stuff.
With that being said I had to miss my baby's basketball game today. I hate missing his games.
