Here Comes Harry Potter........
Remember a month or so ago I told everyone about A.J. wanting the Harry Potter chess set and that John had made him a deal over a year ago that when he beat him at chess he would buy him that chess set. Well, today was the day. A.J., my 7 year old, beat his 37 year old daddy. GREAT! The first thing he said was "Daddy, remember what you promised." Afterwards I told John that he would learn to keep his mouth shut. I questioned him and John said he really, honestly, and truely beat him. I could not believe it. A.J. is the type of kid that when he sets his mind to it he can do it and that was proven today. So, sometime this weekend I'll have to order a $400 chess set. Let's just hope that in 10/20 years it will be worth big money.
I'm sick and have been all week. I even broke down and tried to get an appointment today, with no success. I have felt like crap all day. The good thing is that it is a 3 day weekend....YAY!
When A.J. got off the bus at work today he met me telling me that he was going to his first dance and that Genessis, a little girl in his class was going with him. I asked him what he was talking about. His school is having their first Valentine's dance and he wants to go. After he asked his little classmate, whom he says is NOT his girlfriend, he realized he should have asked his true love, Morgan. He and this little girl, I work with her mom, are inseperable and have told everyone for almost 2 years that they were getting married. So, now A.J. has decided that he has to call and ask Morgan. I think it's cute. The sad thing about the dance is that it's on the same night as our semi-formal, which I am suppose to work. I really don't care, since a friend and I are the only teachers that work PTO stuff, if I'm there or not. My mom wants to go and help work A.J.'s dance so I may run back and forth, since the two schools are 2-3 minutes apart. I'm actually kind of excited for A.J., being his first dance.
John is in the middle of trying to fix our hot water heater, which is tricky, since it's a gas/propane heater. I think he is about to give up. He has been working on it for over an hour now. I don't know what is wrong with it but I'm sure if he gives up we will be going to Lowe's tomorrow. Just great.....more money to be out.
