Snow Day = Sick Day. I have been sneezing a lot the past few days and I had chalked it up to being the warm weather flaring up my allergies. But now, by last night, I was sick. I woke up at 6:30 this morning feeling like crap but I was still going to work but luckily the phone rang and they called school off. I went ahead and got up because my head was splitting and I needed to blow the nose and when I looked outside I was shocked. There was very little snow on the roads and if our road isn't bad it usually isn't bad anywhere else. But hey, I'm not complaining, I would have been at work feeling aweful and not wanting to be there. The sad thing is that we have to return tomorrow and it will be a 7-7 day, since I have both early duty and a parent/teacher conference after school. That's just what I need, especailly considering that I feel like crap. Oh well, the life of a teacher.
I have finally gotten started on the baby quilt. I just need to dedicate some serious time to it.
I had an eventful incident last night. My dad, who works away, called yesterday evening and wanted to know if I had seen or talked to mom. I hadn't at that point and didn't think anything of it until my Granny and then my brother both called wondering about her. They had apparently been calling with no answer, which is very much not like my mom. So, being worried, I headed over there to see what was going on. I stopped and picked up my brother and we made the trip. Thankfully, we found her okay with phone technicalities. Thank God!
mom,
