Decorations (Open )

(OOC - Set sometime after the away mission in Christmas-wobble-time.)

It was, perhaps, inappropriate to afford a section of the ship's power to the replication of decorations. Spock, however, was quite convinced that the representative nature of the replicated flora more than forgave the indulgence. Despite being convinced of this, it did occur to ( Read more... )

((OOC - It is entirely possible that none of this can happen. AND YET.))

It was unlikely she would have more aid to give. But Spock approached the door of the female Spock, his counterpart, anyway and buzzed to request entry.

Seasonal tradition was seeming more and more statistically relevant as time progressed. With casual grace, Spock rose from her desk and the notes she'd gathered. The distance to the door was short and she opened it manually.

Her non-native variant. Curious.

"Are you well?" Spock prompted, in place of the greeting that neither specifically required.

She was aware of his condition. Obfuscation was... illogical.

"I would not describe myself as such. And you?"

"That is unfortunate," Spock commented. "I am in a satisfactory condition."

Spock regarded him evenly. Visual examination indicated that he was...in disarray. Spock's brow arched. She did not comment.

"I am, however, currently involved in a complex conundrum."

In disarray or not, a Spock was still a Spock.

He arched a curious brow at her and inclined his head, to indicate his willingness to hear her complex connundrum. His own issue would not suffer for postponement.

"I am currently participating in a traditional holiday activity," Spock clarified as Spock gave his leave. Her eyes moved upward a scant 3.5 degrees, indicating the ornament hanging above them.

"However, I have yet to ascertain if your visit is of such gravity that such frivolity would be completely inappropriate," Spock admitted. "I would appreciate your aid in this matter."

He followed her visual cue - a curious bit of greenery was displayed at the threshhold to her quarters. They could, with some small argument, be described as standing beneath it.

"In what holiday tradition are you participating? I am unfamiliar and do not recognize this plant, though probability indicates to me that it is native to Earth. I am seeking information - a small delay is permissable, particularly if it results in the gathering of new information."

"It is a replicated equivalent of the Terran hemi-parasitic flora, Phoradendron serotinum," Spock elaborated, "In latent Judeo-Christian applied paganism, after the tradition of Saturnalia, it was appropriate to hang such specimens in walkways.

"Upon intersecting beneath such specimens, the expected convention requires that any given parties exhibit, in a simple physical act, complete and unquestioned trust and acceptance in one another. It is quite a poignant exercise, conceptually."

That did not sound acceptable. But further information would be required before he could issue an official objection.

"What is this act?"

Spock was not particularly given to unquestioned trust and acceptance at the best of times. Even less so now.

"The willful connection of both parties orbicular oral musculature," Spock answered. "The brevity of this act is unspecified."

"A kiss. Fascinating."

A kiss as a gesture of unconditional trust and acceptance? How... alien.

"This is not a tradition that is practiced in my universe of origin. A kiss would place one party at a temporary disadvantage to the benefit of the other party. It is not to be indulged in lightly."

He and Christopher did not kiss often or gently when they did.

That was not a pathway of thought he wished to pursue.

He would pursue a different pathway of thinking.

"I have limited experience with this activity and do not wish to perform this tradition inadequately."

Spock arched a brow in return.

"The implied kiss is one of mutual surrender, rather than overt dominance," Spock clarified. "Though, admittedly, there is no exact instruction for how it is to be completed.

"Technically, the only path that would lead to inadequacy is overt refusal." It might have sounded like a reassurance, had she not been Vulcan. As she was, however, it was merely a statement of fact.

"The differential of experience level is a reliable factor in matters of dominance. However, I am... willing to participate in your tradition. I shall require indication of appropriate action."

"Fortunate," Spock commented, "and most appreciable."

Spock and Spock were already of a reasonable proximity, but were still quite too parted to participate in the aforementioned activity. Spock closed the distance to a more appropriate one, and her brow dropped back to its placid normative.

"Reciprocal action of equivalent vehemence should suffice," Spock commented and leaned forward 4.56 degrees. Her lips pressed against Spock's, it was an odd and notable sensation, and she calmly folded her hands behind her back.

He mimicked her posture, hands folded behind his own back, headed tilted to complement her angled approach.

Her lips were very soft.

The soft pressure was surprisingly distracting.

There was no specific need to amplify the state of the kiss, but Spock could not resist the opportunity to test the pliancy and general muscular response of her variant. His lips were not feminine, but the general novelty of the situation was distracting enough. Idly, Spock examined the textural quality of his orbicular musculature with the edge of her tongue. It was as expected.
