So, fandom meme for my main fandoms -
Ouran!
1. The first character I first fell in love with
I actually spent the first couple episodes of the anime wondering what sort of fantastic gay fest I had tripped into (this was not helped by having watched Princess Princess directly before) and addressing the characters by hair color and brief physical description. I'd say it was Kyouya who first captured my attention (it is the glasses...I sensed a kindred spirit), although Tamaki was close upon his heels.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
Tamaki, actually. He is really not my normal kind of character on a superficial level - he really got me with his backstory in volume 6 of the manga. That really showed a depth and dimension to his character that I really hadn't anticipated from such a vacuous goof ball. Also, he is an unexpected repository for all those vocab words I never get to use in real life. :D
Yuzuru, too, I suppose. I am his #1 fan and the only writer of incredibly long backstory on his part that I know of.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't
The twins. I wasn't interested in them until the most recent chapters because they felt like something I had seen before. They also are genuinely cruel at some points and that creeps me out a bit.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates
...Renge? I don't love love love her...but the cosplay connection makes it impossible not to love her a bit (it is fun being that bossy and annoying. Although I almost killed my friend when he kept asking people to make me do her laugh).
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer
Uh...my devotion to my characters has stayed constant.
6. The character I would shag anytime
None of them, actually. That would be weird. Also, how is it in all those smut fics that Tamaki's brain just doesn't implode at the mere thought of sex...?
7. The character I'd want to be like
Tamaki. I could use his positivism in the face of overwhelmingly depressing....life.
8. The character I'd slap
I would have slapped Hikaru until about 3 chapters ago-ish when he finally grew up and stopped being an absolute brat.
9. A pairing that I love
I don't think this is a well-kept secret for this fandom at all - it is KYOUYAXHARUHI. Ha, the_dw just shot me a death glare over the internetz if she is reading this. TamakixHaruhi would definitely be the one...because I really don't think its a cliche because its so...I don't know, improbable. And I like the fundamental way the characters are sketched and developed - its not a manner of "OH LOOK HANDSOME CHUNK OF RICH MEAT....LOVE!" It is a genuine appreciation of Tamaki's character that finally wins Haruhi over.
10. A pairing that I despise
Kyouya/Haruhi - because it is badly written in all but maybe two cases for the simple fact that relationships within the Host Club are not hermetically sealed - when Haruhi does get herself paired off it will be a ripple effect on all the connecting relationships. Moreover, Tamaki isn't a complete idiot...more of a selective one. He would notice Kyouya honing in (and that beach episode where he thinks Kyouya has taken advantage of her is the only canonical moment in which he is actually - if momentarily - genuinely pissed off. Future!fic might work...Tamaki as matchmaker might also work. However, I really don't see the fundamental attraction between them both - Kyouya wouldn't give up his position and the power of a marriage to catch a commoner and Haruhi, I believe, associates him all too much with the wall of the wealthy world.

1. The first character I first fell in love with
Balsa because she was a female kicking some serious ass.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
Tanda! I didn't realize his brilliance until about episode 11 when I realized what a hopeless dork he was. Also his continual references to not wearing the pants in his UST filled relationship with Balsa is awesome.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't
I'm gonna say Shuga - he started out strong with me and then wasn't nearly as kick-ass I stand up to the entire world towards the second half of the series.

1. The first character I first fell in love with
Hermione. It is a case of me liking nerds after my own heart. My mom still refers to me as Hermione sometimes...
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
Dobby. His death made me very unexpectedly devastated. Much in the same way as Hedwig did. I think it had something to do with the fact that he was just so put upon all his life and still managed to be unabashedly noble, even if he was a bit annoying.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't
The trio. I'm just honestly not that interested in them. I don't know if it is the fact that they've been explored a lot as the books focused on them or that they're simply lacking something to really catch my eye.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates
Walburga Black? I think she has some totally interesting minor character potential that needs to be explored. She's got to have been more than a screaming insane woman at some point in her lifetime...did Sirius leaving and then Regulus' disappearance actual break her or did she always have a full bucketful of screws lose?
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer
Dumbledore. I think his is a glittery sociopath. I don't understand how Harry forgave him all of that manipulation. Or that Sirius or James or Lily or any of the innumerable people who had to die during the course of his games, for that matter.

Sirius? Sounds like a safe bet to me.

I'd like to be like Marlene McKinnon. But she's my own semi-OC so I don't think she counts.

Harry/Ginny, really. The symmetry of it all disturbed me a bit there at the end and seemed kind of...superficial. I mean, you could do some great Freudian analysis of that entire relationship, especially the way Rowling herself posits all of the dopplegangers and such there. The DH Epilogue amounts to one gigantic, creepy, Gothic moment. XD What a reading that is.

Melrose Plant. He's such a dandy stereotype. However, his constant attempts to annoy his Aunt Agatha are hilarious...my mother tells me that in more recent books he has hired a monk to live on his estate.
