~_^ I can write an actual organized essay concerning the issue...but I don't think I have the talent to put it into a fic in a coherent manner...even in the simplest scenarios...i.e. Haruhi gets paired off with Tamaki and the rest of the Host Club rejoices (some more than others...and some maybe falsely)...is very complicated to fully delineate. Indeed, you have Tamaki's grandmother left to deal with still and the fact that while he has been acknowledged as a Suoh, he hasn't necessarily been declared the Suoh heir yet. See, too complicated.
The style of such a fic is also a whole other can of worms. Although I suppose you can do a format like this fic where you get to see all of the points of view of the various members. However, that has the problem of not having a real feel good resolution because in the end, they are character sketches unified by a common theme or event, not so much a hard core plot. But, unless you did crazy point of view changes, you would miss out on some of the more complex issues going on. Wow, this is making my head hurt just thinking about it.
This is why I wonder if the ending to the actual manga will be rather ambiguous (although its rather skewed in Tamaki's favor)...because although pairing Haruhi off seems to be an end, it brings with it an entire wealth of complexities. Something like your roleplay scenario (and that is so very much something that Kyouya would say) would have to take place. But one way or the other the Host Club unravels and the fun ends.
It remains to be seen what happens then, I guess. My, I do apologize, this is longer than the first! ^^U
