Day of the Moon, Crack Theory Extravaganza

Well, this series is off to a cracking start, isn't it? Not only can I not wait until next episode, but this danged show is making me go back and analyze all sorts of bread crumb moments in series 5 and series 4 (to be fair, only "Silence in the Library" and "Forest of the Dead", but still!).

First of all, if River Song really is his wife, I'm going to be deeply disappointed if she is not Romana as well.

Speaking of Romana and thinking about my recent re-watch of "The Lodger," the space ship in there and the strange moments seem awfully reminiscent of both the alien and the effects of the alien in "City of Death." Also, the Silence have a similar impact on the whole of human history, as they do.

But this season seems to be game changing in many ways. And, I have very little idea what to do with the child regenerating at the end. Especially with the discussion directly preceding this, the obvious implication is that this is Amy's child. And we are supposed to be led by the soap opera notion that it is the Doctor's child. Now, being dangerously genre savvy, this is obviously all a red herring. Also, unless Amy has done something deeply wrong in a family show without the Doctor's consent, then it does not seem possible...

This episode, however, was filled with blink and you miss it stuff...for example, who exactly was the woman in the child's room? What did she mean by looking at Amy and remarking she was dreaming? Exactly how long was Amy with the Silence (especially since they were in what could or could not be a functioning time machine)?

Also, just as an aside, the fact that humankind has been killing by post-hypnotic is absolutely terrifying.

But, off to Crack Theory #1 -

I think the Silence are the echoes of the Time Lords, somehow perverted by the Time War. This would explain the TARDIS lookalikes and their interference in time. I also think that in the time Amy is with them...they managed to do something to her. Hence the Time Lord like little girl.

In the end, instead of blokes in ridiculous robes and terrible hats, you have deformed parasites spread out amongst the galaxies. This would also be why all of the species in the lasts series were running.

And then there is the astronaut. I have no idea what to do with the astronaut, but I know the Silence aren't done by a long shot and the astronaut is part of their overall plan (the Doctor states outright that they need a space suit for something).

I also think they will someday explain Rory randomly turning into a Roman beyond "OMG IZ A MIRACLE!" Also, is Rory plastic or not...?

Crack Theory #2 -

The Silence have gotten to Amy long before the events of either of these episodes, and this is how they constructed the idea of Rory and the Romans. They would not have been aware of anything at that time, as well. But they have to have a reason for blowing the TARDIS up in the first place.

Also, the Silence sounds like Davros. A fact I haven't yet been able to place.

River Song Crack Theory #1 -

River Song is 12. So wrong on so many levels, as she "dies" (but she really doesn't and says so in "Forest of the Dead." Also, if you read that speech, it can totally be read both ways.) Also, she says she doesn't fear her death or the Doctor's (would be one and the same). Also, she can totally lie about the screw driver. This would also explain why she knows his name.

River Song Crack Theory #2 -

She has to be a Time Lady. I'm going with this. ROMANA!!! (Okay, I'm a shameless shipper...shhh, dun tell anyone). Could be Susan, as well. Or, the dark horse, Donna.

River Song Crack Theory #3 -

She intentionally allows the TARDIS to explode and, somehow, someway, she is the spaceman.

Okay. I dunno.

Fangirl/boy/person with me?

eleventh doctor, doctor who, wtf, crack, incoherent fangirling
