I rang DHL and made a complaint, telling them about how I'd had 3 parcels left outside, 1 in the bin, 1 in the rain when it's a cardboard container marked Amazon etc. JD Williams (Home Shopping Direct) rang me back & explained that when Amazon send via DHL, DHL sometimes subcontract to them, and they're allowed to "Safe Place" these parcels. This is obviously some new and interesting use of the phrase 'safe place' that I hadn't previously been aware of.

Well, I just explained to Amazon what I'd been told, and told them about the pooey nappies & what have you, and now they're sending me a 10UKP voucher. And I asked them to cc me in on any feedback that might come of their meeting with DHL. I want to see some kind of policy change come out of this so that either Amazon don't issue erroneous claims about the level of service given by their couriers, or the level of service given is brought up to the level claimed by Amazon. Amazon are being made fools of by the courier companies - I wouldn't want to have that happen to any business of mine.
