I'm Dreaming of a Palm Tree Christmas?!
F. So my in-laws called BACK and they are in fact going to Arizona for Christmas this year. They had me all excited because last we spoke they were going to stick to Sask... which meant I would get to see my family for New Years. But it's not an easy trip from Phoenix to Regina just for New Years. :(
This is the part of marriage that really sucks - the sharing of family time. HubbyB was great last year - he spent almost 2 weeks with my family on our farm even though I knew he was bored out of his tree. And by that logic it is "His Turn" for Christmas. And with his Dad's health lately, it's even more important that we see them for Christmas.
You'd think that would make it easier for me to resolve this in my mind. You'd THINK.
I'm a terrible selfish person and I'm fighting every urge to pout until I get my way. No family for the holidays!?! My Mom has to work over Christmas as does my sister. My brother is off work but has to work immediately after Christmas day. So I hate that Christmas is falling apart for the rest of my family too! Calgary / Yorkton is too far apart for them too.
Boo. I must go find a corner to cry in.
