I finished off another series. This one was 26 episodes in length and was set in a fantasy world. I really liked this one it felt solid all the way through. the main character is a fresh slate through the start of the series waking up injured and without his memories. but eventually we find out more about his past and how he reacts towards it makes up the main plot of the show. I can't really say too much without giving away spoilers but the this series pulled it off in a way i haven't seen in any previous anime i have watched.
there are some interesting twists at the end which some people may not like and i was kinda sketchy about it at 1st but the more i thought about the ending the more i liked about it. my only complaint is they kinda rush through some important points but they do hit on them which may make for re-watching of an episode to get the significance of what actually happened and see how deep this rabbit hole goes.
This rush also didn't give justice to the entire cast that i would have loved to learn the backstory for. but i guess that is just a tribute to the great job this series does at building a believable world to tell a story in. The general plot is the male lead is saved by the female lead in the forest, his memory is lost.
He helps save the village and becomes a military leader fighting in a civil war, gaining new allies along the way and ascending to the rank of emperor. i couldn't really find many characters i didn't really like and they all developed when the series actually gave them screen time. i just wish it was a longer series so we could see more of it. This anime almost plays out like a video game in plot progression.
The romance that plays out between the male and female lead is probably some of the most believable i have seen in terms of the internal conflict going on in each of them and the rest of the harem he has doesn't overdue things and push fanservice in any way that disturbs the flow of the story which is nice. So overall a really solid series that made me wish they made more of it.
