OMG I hate when people ask me what kind of music I listen to. It's just. oh god. I'll say "metal" and people will be like "Metallica? Iron Maiden? Judas Priest? Black Sabbath? Guns n Roses? Pantera? System of a Down?" and they'll just name off a ton of bands I NEVER listen to.
And I feel dumb. ;~; It's like, they've listed off tons of mainstream (or perhaps, not even-) metal and I'm just like "NO" to every one.
I assume they think I'm not serious when I say I listen to metal.
I don't tell people what I listen to, lol. I mean, I CAN'T EVEN PRONOUNCE MY FAVOURITE BAND'S NAME.
Drudkh. HOW DO YOU SAY THAT?? They're a Ukrainian band but use a Sanskrit word. GUH.
And it's like "ooooooooh i also listen to Electric Wizard and Jex Thoth and Nile and Bathory and Lifelover and Pantheist and Sunn O))) and Windir and... no??"

And then I made the mistake of saying "doom metal" to my co-worker when talking about metal and he gave me a weird look... 6_9 but no really, it exists! It's uh. Yeah.
I'm not making shit up and lying when I say metal. ;~; I love it, I do. I spent way too many years infatuated with the genre. Like, how I love Takarazuka now. It was just like that. But instead of swooning over actresses, I was swooning over the music of different bands!
I guess I spent about... 7 years really into it? @_@ Oh god that seems like a huge number now that I look back on it. In the end I have decided that doom and black metal are my favourite subgenres. And then things get really interesting with sub-sub genres (ie brutal death metal, funeral doom metal, national socialistic black metal lol yea it exists and sadly it sounds pretty good).
ugh... maybe I should go to bed now lol. I HAVE TWO DAYS OFF!! In a row! I love when that happens, because I can actually relax. :D Lol except not really because I have to go Christmas shopping. I did manage to buy one present so far for Asako-san, but it's mostly a joke present that I don't expect her to use... but I hope it will make her smile. ^_^ But I still have to find something else she'll find useful. ugh it's difficult
