This is me attempting to journal about my time at the Anime Evolution convention.
I'm still tired about it and memories are vanishing as the days go by, so the way I write may not flow very well.
Started off on Thursday sleeping over at nakiamoraye's house. Slept in a tent in her backyard. Not as bad as it sounds, since it's so hot.
We woke up at 6am and got the ferry at 7 something. On the ferry we met up with a friend who was going to AE as well. :D
We got to Vancouver and things went smoothly as we lugged our suitcases full of costumes and wig heads onto buses and then to UBC.
Picking up our badges also went well despite the horror stories I hear about the lines and such. We arrived around noon.
Then we made our way to our hotel dorms we were staying at because it was far too hot and we were already exhausted.
Kat and her girlfriend A Llama got a room together, and Mistye and her brother Sky got a room together. I, however, got a room one with one single bed that also happened to be in another building. ROFL. Loner Katface, forever win.

Anyways.
I kind of ditched my Seiya cosplay plans at the last minute because the shoes made me feel like the muscles on the bottom of my feet were going to tear, so I went as Lupin III instead. It was funner. But still hot.
It must have been 30 degrees Celcius the whole time during the con, so running around in jeans and a long sleeve shirt + jacket did not make me feel cool.
Not much really happened this day, I guess. xD I was going to attend the Zapp Brannigan's Guide to Women which was at 12am, but then Mistye and Sky didn't have ID since it was an 18+ panel so they left and I went with them.
It's interesting, there was on location shooting going on for the TV show Hellcats. It doesn't look like an interesting show at all, but I find it amusing that it's American. So I wonder what they're going to call the school that's set in the show... since it's actually a Canadian school lmfao.
There was this big strange glomp circle in a big open concrete area of the con. I don't understand it. People would stand in a huge circle, walk across and hug somebody random. Then they'd walk into the middle and hug again. Then they'd yell and they'd pile onto each other into a big group hug. What the fuck? I don't get the appeal of hugging strangers.
...They had this game running the whole damned weekend. We'd go out around noon and pass them, then when we left to go to our dorms at night they were still doing it. D: WTF?
Mad Hatter. When we first arrived, we saw her and Kat jizzed in her pants outloud right in front of her. It was awkward.
Anyways, yes. I think it was Friday night that we met up with our friend from the ferry again. She was with some friends and we hung out at the common room together and chatted, but then they had to leave because they're minors and there's a curfew. Rofl.
There was some drunk guys that bothered us slightly when we were going int the building though. They were all "HAY UR WEARING A WIG LOOK AT MY BUDDY HERE HE'S NOT WEARING A WIG THAT'S HIS REAL HAIR~"

At least that building is open 24 hours a day and has staff working it. Feels safe in there. XD
I spent a lot of time there in that building at night because it had internet access lol. /nerd
I have fallen and I can't get up.
We'd go back to our dorms often to rest because it was tiring walking around in the extreme heat. x_x I'd tell my friends I'd be going for a "nap" but we all know I really meant a "fap" because I brought my laptop along so I could watch Zuka. CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT.

Saturday
We went to the dealer's room this day. I actually made an effort to look for something I'd enjoy, although I wasn't expecting much. But I found this!
Obligatory yaoi item that had to have been bought. I like this issue because it has Yuki being gangbanged by his brother and best friend.
ALSO, TOTORO WITH FLOWERS. <3<3
I'm actually a big fan of Gravitation, ahaha.
And then of course, there's the Sailor Moon junk that I bought. When I found Eien Densetsu at this little booth in the corner of the dealers room, I had a fit. A FIT. So I ran to Kat and had a fangirl spazz all around her and had to buy Eien Densetsu rofl. The lady working there was really nice, since she had such rare stuff I thought I'd take a chance and ask if she had any Rose of Versailles merch. She had a little figure of Rosalie and that was it, which is too bad because I would have bought it if it was Oscar instead lol.
Then I took another chance and asked if she had any Takarazuka merch. She told me she had a magazine back at her store and she'd bring it for me tomorrow. :D So I walked away happy, with my bag full of Sailor Moon junk and nonsense.

Saturday was the Final Fantasy Fight Tournament panel. It's actually the only panel I went to. I went because Mana was a judge (as Tony Stark), and her friend Rifa was hosting it (as Cloud ala FFVII). It was held in a giant gym and was a really long event and I got tired at times. I liked Team Rocket the most and had hoped they'd win, but they didn't. They won last year though. I think the Red Team from Team Fortress won, with them going up against Avatar at the end. That Avatar team was crazy skilled, they'd have the guy standing up on the other one's shoulder and crazy pole spinning tricks and martial arts. They were very impressive.
Mana as Tony Stark! She was really busy though and we couldn't talk to her much, so Kat got this really quick picture.
Kat found a Jack Sparrow cosplayer and enjoyed him greatly.
Around 6 we had a picnic with A llama's friends~ It was nice and they were all really cool. One of her friends was a big Coke addict like me AND WE TOTALLY COULD RELATE. <3 It's nice to meet someone else who understands~
I kept trying to be cuddly with A Llama but then she told me to go hug the furries instead. :(
Ponyo and Sasuke! It is Sasuke right? I can't be bothered to look his name up. But these two of A Llama's friends were cute.
I was also able to find a Jigen cosplayer and get a pic with him! But I look fugly so I'm not posting it. He was an older gentleman and had a nice little cigarette and beard to complete the look. BFFZ~
Some people brought a TV along and were playing old school Super Smash Bros. Cool!
SUNDAY
THIS WAS THE BIG DAY. I wore my SAILOR URANUS costume. The skirt didn't cover my ass. It was very nice. We woke up early because we had to be out of our dorms by 11, and then we had to check our bags into bag check place thing. Also the Sailor Moon photoshoot was at noon.
The same Jigen cosplayer was there taking pics, it amused me. Hahaa. Because he's so old. But I don't blame him, everybody likes girls in miniskirts.

And then we ran into A Llama's friends from the picnic again! They swapped their Ponyo and Sasuke outfits. So cute!
Later we had our own short shoot in this little forest-type area. URANUS IS NOT AMUSED WITH NEPTUNE'S ANTICS. A Llama cosplayed Natsu from Fairy Tail, which I have never read. She was open shirt binding and in the dealer's room she was mistaken as a "he" and we roffled together heartily.
I also got a pic with Sky because he's a cutie.
I got a tear in my damned pantyhose right after the photoshoot (luckily) and it just got bigger as the day went on. I looked like White Trash Uranus, it was great.
On Sunday, Mana cosplayed young Spock! Isn't she cute? :]
We went back to the dealer's room and I went to the booth with the lady who promised me Takarazuka. She said she was surprised to see me show up in that outfit. XD Then she gave me the issue, it was May of this year! :3 There's a nice spot on tsukigumi for me to enjoy, and I will enjoy.
Kat wanted me and her to get a quick drawing of each other by this artist in a booth. So we sat down and got a quick 5 minute sketch each, then the artist lady coloured in it and we got it laminated. It looks really cute, I'd post a pic except Kat's the one who has it. Later I will post.
We got stopped a few times for pics, which is cool because that's not something I ever experienced. It's funny when one person asks you for a pic, so you pose, and then a whole bunch of other people whip their cameras out. I have had no luck in searching the internet to find these pics, though.
We caught the trolly downtown and then transferred to the bus to the ferry terminal. Remind me to never take the 250 again though. It's not express like the 257 is and took about twice as long. O_O But we caught the ferry in time, the 6:55 one.
It was funny, in the lobby waiting for the ferry, I thought I'd go and buy a 1.50$ ice cream sandwich from the vending machine. I pressed A9 and it said 1.50$, so I put the money in and the vacuum thing went to A10 and sucked for a while until it finally got it right and went to A9. Except A9 was sold out and the machine didn't tell me, but it kept sucking and got a block of ice from the bottom and dropped it for me to pick up.

WTF I PAYED 1.50$ FOR A BLOCK OF ICE. I was so lame, I went to my friends and I cried and we laughed and then I rubbed the ice all over my body anyways... since it was so hot.
I DON'T KNOW WHY UBC WAS NOT AIR CONDITIONED, I'M PRETTY SURE EVERYBODY THERE WAS DYING OF HEAT STROKE. T_T
I got a really cool sunburn from my Uranus costume, I like it a lot.
