Question for everyone:

With the stolen-ness of my car, I will be shopping (and hopefully buying!) one within the next week. My question to you:

1. What are you driving right now?
2. What do you like about it?
3. What don't you like about it?

Thanks!!

I drive a 2005 Scion tC

The main things I like:

1. Small enough that I can park it easily, but roomy enough that I don't feel cramped driving it. Also the rear seats are spacious for a small coupe.

2. It has a 2.4L engine, which has enough power when I need it, but can still get 35 mpg during pure highway driving at the speed limit. It also doesn't hurt that it is the same engine from the Toyota Camry. Two words: Bomb. Proof.

3. Has good road feel to the steering. That was one of the key buying points of the car. Definitely better than the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, or Pontiac Vibe.

4. Lots of features standard like anti-lock brakes and sunroof, and the options are all a la carte. No haggle pricing.

What I don't like:

1. Trunk space is at a premium, though the back seats fold down to a flat load floor. You can carry people or things, but not both at once. This is bad if you like to carry a big emergency kit or anything.

2. The front end is not very aerodynamic. Thus, it is hard to keep clean from all the bugs it kills.

3. Shift knob uses nylon threads, which deform. I've already replaced 2 shifter knobs under warranty, and I'm about to replace a third.

4. Annoying rattle from the rear hatch. I haven't figured it out yet. However, I understand that this problem has been improved if not outright eliminated on the newer models.

Echoing B, I would look at Toyota and Honda just from a mileage and reliability standpoint. Though used Hondas are stupidly expensive.

This
is what you need.
