About a month or two ago, I bought some groceries, including two bags of delicious Veggie Booty. Veggie Booty is a corn puff based snack product that's supposed to be less unhealthy than other corn puff based snack product, because it is coated in a thick greasy green powder, instead of a thick greasy orange powder, and everyone knows green = vegetables or perhaps some sort of rejuvenating fungus.
When I got home, I noticed that one of the bags was pressurized to the point of bursting, as many snack-containing bags are at this altitude, but the other seemed deflated, like a diaper that's saggy and leaky, only not leaking. Whilst inspecting the bag, I noticed several creases and discolorations on the outside, including a couple holes in the creases. I don't know if the bag was crumpled repeatedly, or it was just made with weaker material than normal. Either way, my paranoid nature kicked in and I returned it to the store for a healthier, overinflated bag.
Today, I heard about
this interesting little tidbit of news. It's unlikely that the two incidents are related, but I'll just pretend that I dodged a bullet for all you naysayers* out there who make fun of my little paranoid traits regarding food.
