I just shortened a meeting from a half hour to fifteen minutes.  It was pretty rad.  The meeting was called because one of the new subsystems' structure will cause our foremen to have to enter two tickets instead of one for certain activities.  After not saying anything for ten minutes, I finally broke in with the fairly obvious solution, to not change the data entry or the coding or the policy, but to just tweak the reporting, since that's the only "problem" (quotation marks intentional).  After I finished explaining what I thought should have been readily apparent to anyone, the project manager was like, "Wow...I think that just might work, and solve a couple of our other problems.  Why aren't you in charge of this project?" and the director of operations said, "You da man!"  My boss just sat there with his arms folded and a big grin on his face.  He enjoys watching his minions lay the smack down in his name.
