we'll never know

I was waiting for Robert Jordan to finish up the damn Wheel of Time series before resuming it.  I don't even remember what book I've read through, but it was somewhere around the point where I hoped the Rand would spend the rest of the series afflicted with projectile diarrhea every five paragraphs.  Oh well, so much for hoping for closure for that.

I find it amusing that Fox, the network that broadcast the Emmys, failed to earn an Emmy.  I wonder if this means that Rupert Murdoch's next strategy for boosting ratings will be to buy NBC.

The Dine-o-Round is going on downtown until the end of the month.  Dinner prices for the more expensive tier have gone up $5.  *sigh*  But there are two surprise appearances in the $15 tier: Christopher's and Sage's (boy, could we pick two more opposite places?).  I'll have to set aside some time/money to give those a try.

Our stove hasn't worked for almost two weeks.  The repairman is finally coming out tomorrow afternoon.  As much as I love my Foreman grill, I've realized that it is nice to at least have the stovetop option.  I mean, I couldn't even make Hamburger Helper if I wanted to!

it won't do
to dream of caramel
to think of cinnamon
and long for you
