We finally made it to Disney World

So here's my Disney story. In 1973, my family took a vacation. This was a big deal for us, since my dad was a farmer and an electrician; he took his two weeks vacation in the spring and fall, one week to plant crops, one week to harvest. We occasionally went to my uncle's cabin, but other than that, didn't take regular vacations. So for whatever ( Read more... )

YAYY!!! to having childhood dreams finally realized!! That's so sweet!

To nhowells91
I've been to Disney World three times:
::First when I was 12, for three days with my mother, sister, and grandmother (EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT/Blizzard Beach)[Nothing else was built yet!!]
::Second when I was 19, for one day on Choir Tour (EPCOT)
::Third when I was 28, for three days with my mother, grandmother, and wife [wife's first time] (EPCOT, MK/Animal Kingdom, MGM/EPCOT) [notice a trend there? Can you guess which one is my favorite?] [my son wasn't born until I was 31]

All three times I thoroughly enjoyed myself and am patiently now waiting until #1 son is old enough to enjoy the park as much as his Dad does.
PLUS now they have an adult section of the park that I haven't gone to see. "Downtown Disney" or "Pleasure Island" or something like that and it's many dance joints and comedy clubs and things all put together like a cleaned up Bourbon St on the Disney Campus, so that's something, too.

Walt Disney Corp. continues to want to be all things to all people, even those who don't currently have 2.0's wanting another bag of overpriced cotton candy. I'd encourage you to move it to the list of "get around to it eventually" because they really have done a pretty good job with these parks for all ages.
