I have an unabashed enjoyment of "The Commodores", especially their classic catalog. I am equally fond of both their early funkified days and their subsequent turn as soul balladeers.
For those of you who know me well, this is entirely consistent with my strong affinity for all things old school funk, soul, R&B, and Motown. A band who spans the vector space from "Machine Gun" and "Brick House" to "Nightshift" with "Just to Be Close to You" in between is guaranteed to suit my tastes.
This irrational affection is also why I will always be able to forgive Lionel Richie for "Dancing on the Ceiling" and the creepifyin' video for "Hello".
