long update cause I'm booooooooored

I'm here in the 'studio cafe' at OCC, which is cool mostly because it's the only place on campus where they don't harass you for having food at the computer.  Usually I don't have this much time in between classes but there was a test in guitar today... "ok you'll have the full hour to complete this..." yeah it took about 10 minutes and I was outta there.  Some of the more difficult questions were "how many beats does a dotted half note carry" and "which fret is used for tuning the next open string".  I can't believe this class is required.  Oh well, it's an easy A, which I will earn only if I don't die from boredom before the semester is over.
From here on out in my journal, to avoid confusion, Steve H will be Stamilton and Steve D will be Stevo... last week Stamilton and I went to see the Billy Joel musical at MSU, it was awesome.  Great dancing, and great music.  They actually had two guys singing the Billy Joel part, one sang the high range, and the other one played the piano and sang the rest of the part.  They did a damn good job too cause I didn't notice until it was half over that there were two of them.  You could buy the soundtrack out in the lobby... unless you are that piano player's mom, wouldn't you rather have an actual Billy Joel CD?  It's like having your cover band get a record deal.  Ha.  Had a good time with Stamilton too on the long drive to MSU & back, I need to hang out with him more often.
Thursday was my birthday, and also the trip to North Carolina to pick up Dad's engine.  Good times... I love road trips.  It was actually almost done when we got there!  Much improvement over last time.  Stevo called me while I was down there to make plans for Friday night, and then he blew me off on Friday.  It was just as well cause I didn't want to leave my new kitty but Stevo is a douche and the next time he calls I need someone to tell me not to hang out with him.  I just don't have the willpower myself... heh.  Friday was cool though cause I got to see Laurie, I don't see her enough anymore, we are both just so busy.  Thursday nights just aren't the same!  We'll have to hang out more this summer when our schedules (hopefully) slow down.
Almost time for english so I should get going to that... another class that's boring as hell and I have to suck it up and go through the motions to get my degree.  On a positive note, I used my Christmas Border's cards to get review books for the GRE and GMAT.  I'm probably going to take those this summer and start something next January.  Even though finishing my music degree is what I really wanted to do, being at OCC seems like a step backwards and I'm looking forward to grad school :)
