New Addition: Mossberg 500

Mar 23, 2008 01:19

I have wanted to purchase a shotgun for several months and I finally decided to purchase one today. I chose the Mossberg 500 “Persuader” after doing a bit of research, I was torn between it and the Remington 870. After seeing both in person I instantly knew which was the right weapon. One important feature was the safety; the Mossberg’s safety is located on the top of the gun while the Remington is placed next to the trigger which is often awkward for left handed shooters like myself. I was also informed that the safety on the Mossberg is a true safety that blocks the firing mechanism while the Remington simply blocks the trigger from being depressed. I have had the opportunity to shoot several Mossberg’s before and I know they are reliable and durable weapons. I currently have the normal stock attached; however, the pistol grip was included and I may switch it out from time to time. I am anxious to shoot this gun but I may have to wait until I return from Ireland since I already have plans to start painting the new house next weekend. I’m fairly certain this has become my official “bump in the night” weapon.
