Tonight was me and Jenna’s first Christmas Eve alone together. The day was pretty uneventful, we spent most of it finishing presents and hanging out but it was still very nice. We decided to open our presents from each other tonight because we are going to be at other family members homes all day tomorrow and didn’t want to carry our presents with us. We both got each other numerous things we had wanted, I don’t think there was anything that we just didn’t want. Jenna seemed to focus on my shooting (pistol, not photo) hobby while I got her numerous things she had wanted for months. We originally planned on cooking dinner; however, we didn’t feel like cooking after opening presents so we decided to go out… bad idea.
We went out to find somewhere to eat at 8:10 PM, Jenna listed several things that sounded good to her but everywhere we tried closed at 8PM. I was shocked that so many places were closing early, I don’t recall this ever happening before. After several failed attempts to find food I decided to seek out a place that
Ken and
Angela had suggested numerous times before:
Orient Express. I was amazed when we entered the parking lot and they were still open. We ate some pot stickers, General Tso’s Chicken, and Shrimp Lo Mein for approximately $33. The servings were a bit larger than I anticipated and it was among the best Chinese food I have ever had. I think we will be going back to try their Sushi in the near future.
After dinner we returned home, cleaned up from opening presents, and played a game of Scrabble. Overall the night was pretty enjoyable; however, I’m ready for the Holidays to be over so people can stop their horrific driving habits and stay home. I will post my list of loot sometime later this week, of course.
