Hey Everyone!
We’ve been cleaning/sitting around all day so I thought I should take some time and at least start a letter. Life is good or about as good as it gets for being here, you learn to take what you can get around here because it ain’t much. We have been doing pre field training packing, unfortunately we’re high speed and get stuff done quickly so we don’t have much to do. We’ll be gone for the next week (I think I told you all about it) running through the woods using all the techniques that we’ve learned (it should only take two days but they like to stretch things out).

I’m sitting here guarding weapons and realized that I really needed to finish this letter, it’s been a little while, then again I haven’t been around for a week.
We spent the past week out in the field running around shooting each other and pretending to use tactics but mostly just running around shooting. No, we really did a lot of work on tactics in the woods and also urban. One of t he sites has 8 houses set up, like a street block, and we practiced doing searches, raids, and reacting to fire in an urban setting. I love my job! Except for the couple of days it poured it wasn’t too bad. I’m slowly learning how to do things smarter.

This entire week has been spent cleaning all of the gear that we used over the past cycle, getting ready to turn it all in. In the traditional military fashion, everything is supposed to be SPOTLESS. When I say spotless I mean you can rub a Q-tip over any part of it and it’s clean. It doesn’t sound bad until you spend 2 days cleaning Bayonets (the same 229 over and over) and then you come to find out how many holes and divets there are on one of those, and that’s just a knife.

Well, today has been a full busy day. We did inventory on all the gear by laying it all out (60 set of everything) then when the drill sergeant and the supply guy got a count we packed it all away. It’s amazing how lazy people are. We have a few great guys who look at the situation and find something to do but there are a lot of guys who wait to be told what to do then they are hoping someone else will step up and do it. Oh well, that’s life with people.
Well, I’m off. If this doesn’t get mailed soon I’ll have graduated by the time I’d get back around to it.
Take care, love you all!
Love,
Micah
i miss my brother so much... i was thinking about him a lot today... im so freaking proud of what hes doing... but im so mad at the person who convinced him to go... its not so much that he convinced him... its the fact that he was getting paid to do it.
