A real entry

I realized after posting about my big nut, I hadn't written on here since March. A lot has happened. Where to begin...

Well, I broke things off with Luke. He was a nice guy, but things just weren't working. I was busy, he was busy, and the time we did spend together, we were hardly ever alone. The magic wasn't there... I don't know that it ever was. I really liked being with him, but there was just that extra something missing. It wasn't a very hard break up for either of us, I think. We both knew it was coming.

Moving on...

I officiated Jessi and Jerry's wedding in April. It was an amazing experience and a very fun wedding. I'm so glad I got to be part of it.

I'm apparently being 'promoted' at work. I'm not convinced it is an actual promotion though. My job is certainly changing. They are taking away a lot of my AP, cash and banking resposibilities and giving me a lot more of the Sales reporting to do. It's exactly what I want to be doing, but I'm slowly getting the impression that I'm just shifting into a new role... more of a lateral move. I guess we'll see come June whether or not I get a raise with this "promotion."

In other work related news, I'm no longer the only gay person that works at this company. The new Fat bastard brand manager is gay. I'm way cuter, so that makes me happy (though he makes about 3 times more money than me... grrr). We've added several new people to the office, so we've downsized and rearranged the desk situation. I hate it... I'm sitting closer to my boss and now she can see everything that I'm doing at all times. She's a decent person when we're not working together, but she micro-manages me and it drives me insane. I talked to her about it yesterday, so hopefully things will change for the better. So far, not so much... but it's only been a day.

On top of being busy at work, I spent the last couple months stage managing a show that Gretchen was directing called "Animal Control." It was one of many plays presented at the Mae West Fest, an annual festival featuring works written and directed by women. We went on last weekend... it was a really good experience. Everyone loved us... I think they're bringing us back to do the show this summer for a Best of the Mae West Fest thing.

Ummmm... oh yeah... I've been dieting and exercising. It's working. I've lost 10 pounds over the past month and a half. I'm still about 40 pounds over my ideal weight, but I'll be happy if I can just lose 10 more. I've been riding my bike to work a couple times a week. It's not getting much easier, but I am getting stronger legs and don't feel completely dead now when I get to work in the morning. And it's obviously helping with the weight thing.

There's a lot of other stuff going on (eg. my cute garden, stuff about Flint O. Bean, family, exciting new boyfriend prospect) that maybe I'll write about another day.
