How did we ever get to the place were this doesn't happen anymore?
President Pertini of Italy arrived--1st visit to U.S. He's 84 and a terrific old gentleman. We had the full ceremony under a warm sum. GOd meeting. He loves America--very touching moment on the way into the White House He paused by the Marine holding our flag and kissed it.
--Ronald Reagan Thursdsay, March 25, 1982
Everyone, may I please have your attention? I have an announcement to make.
I thought this day would never come. I thought that somehow WE would prevail, that there were at least ten righteous men left in the city. This no longer appears to be the case. I believe that judgement is about to be poured out.
For this reason, I am left no choice but to support Obama.
I know that many of you are now shouting at your computer screens: "TURNCOAT! TURNCOAT". Please allow me to explain the rationale behind my decision.
Even since that fateful November Day when the Great Black HOPE was elected anointed King, America has had one brutal ass-raping coming. I mean something so brutal and heinous that there is no way to fathom the level of depravity this act of debauchery reaches. We've had TARP and Porkulus. We've had a push to tax benefits.
Card Check has been tried in Indiana and met with riots to return to private ballots.
The President of the United States has become CEO of two of the three major U.S. car manufacturers in a move to restructure those companies to give his UAW campaign financiers more power over their industry. The President of the United States has personally gotten involved with managing banks and thus indirectly controlling the money supply while directly having an effect on who can and can't get credit in this country.
Today we have had the House of Representatives approve a huge tax hike on energy which will have a domino of consequences and will cause unemployment to skyrocket. The President of the United States has repeatedly told "his fellow Americans" that they will have to give up the American Dream because it costs too much and the government can't yet provide that in a social package.
Our so-called elected representatives have repeatedly ignored the pleas and cries of We the people. Our voice is not heard. THey vote in favor of spending that we have emphatically shouted "NO!" to.
The Bamster wanted to give those on unemployment more benefits to the tune of $25 extra dollars a week. What Barry didn't calculate was that this extra $100/mo would push some people over the income limit for food stamps and would thus have to forego $300/mo in food stamps for an extra $100 in cash for a net gain of -$200 dollars.
Despite these facts, I have to offer my full support to Our Dear Leader Supreme Dictator for Life Lord Barack Obama The Most Merciful. 51% of the country voted for him last election. That voter base has told the other 49% of the country to shut up and take their back seat as the minority in this country. People like John Murtha get re-elected after calling his own people a bunch of hicks and offering his district in Pennsylvania to house Club Gitmo guests.
I have to agree with the majority. Elections have consequences and '08 is no different. I have explained. I have blogged. I have argued and I have mocked. None of what I do is effective. Our elected representatives do not listn. Enough people are not outraged enough. We are slowly boiled frogs.
The way to win a persuasive argument is to not argue at all. Rather, you create a set of circumstances to which there is only one answer that is blatantly obvious. You then let your opponent work through the problem and arrive that that conclusion himself, so that when he does arrive at that conclusion, he has to confront what he currently believes with what he has now been shown what reality is. Once so confronted, he can then either accept the truth for what it is or continue to ignore it. If he accepts the truth that you wished to get this person to believe in the first place, you will now not be able to convince him otherwise.
So, to the minority, those 60 million votes that were cast against Our Dear Leader: shut up! Your party lost. You don't have a say in the matters any longer. Barrack is going to bring HOPE and CHANGE. He's going to fix all of the problems with corporate America even though he's never worked a day in his life as a manager of any kind. Barry's going to fix the economy even though he's proven to know have any knowledge whatsoever of how economics work.
Instead of trying to explain to everyone on every issue why Obama/Pelosi,Reid,Frank, etc. is wrong on each individual issue, I am instead going to support Our Dear Leader, no matter what he does. This is what the majority of the country wanted so this is what the majority of the country gets. Cap & Trade? Bring it on. Nationalized Health care? You betcya.
Experience is a harsh taskmaster. People in this country have enjoyed the wealth and prosperity created by Reagan and have assumed that there will always be a few good men to stand in the gap and save us from ourselves. That hasn't happened this time. This time, we all got screwed.
Your congressperson ignores your phone calls so why make them? Your elected representative doesn't represent you, so why bother dialoging with them? Instead, let this be a harsh lesson the the 51% who voted for Our Dear Leader. When they're miserable enough they'll quit playing politics and start paying attention. When it affects their wallet, then they'll understand.
I guarantee that the education received from this course of action will be worth more than a Ph.D in Political Science...and you can bank on it.
