Back to normal and a little more

My screen has expanded from 7 to 19 inches, much much better. My monitor now overshadows even my regular TV. There have been some other random going-ons. For Valentines Day I made Chuck Norris Valentines with Chuck Norris facts on them. They seemed well received and I enjoyed making them quite a bit.

I visited my mom today as well as my friends, the Broomalls. My friend Andrew is applying for a chef job in Alaska, which would be interesting if he got, although even more remote than he is now. Was good to see him back in town for a weekend. Just missed Casey on my way back up.

I've been spending a lot of my downtime lately listening to This American Life, watching The Daily Show on the Internet, watching all of the King of the Cage DVDs Bryant got me (thanks, those were so awesome), and Netflix, which has been the two seasons of Penn & Teller. I've done nothing on Spanish for awhile now and am a bit disappointed in myself. I should get back on that.

School is alright, better than last semester. I am starting on a thesis idea, which will require a lot of reading. I am also thinking of what I want to do after my program. I am actually considering the possibility of Ph.D. programs in social psychology. I would like to see what I can do in order to qualify myself for a job at the Center for Disease Control researching sex education and possibly later drug education. I think a combo of school psychology and social psychology would work well. I think I could view work in a job such as this as being more useful than I would in school psychology. While school psychology is a great profession and has many advantages, I'm seeing more downfalls. I just don't want to waste my time with something I don't think I will feel completely happy with. However, I think I can get a lot of useful knowledge through completing the program I'm in. On another positive note with the program I will be going with my cohort to Anaheim, CA next month. We were also informed of the possibility of going to China and New York next year for cheap, which would be awesome. I'm considering a class in Mexico for after my internship year. That is one of my incentives for learning Spanish. Loans are great, especially subsidized ones.

The Match.com stuff I've been trying still hasn't been that great. Nothing really continues after a couple e-mails. I am again considering canceling if nothing happens shortly. It would really be something if I managed to go on even a date in the next year. With my schedule and hobbies, I really don't give myself much opportunity even for meeting someone. Even with opportunity for meeting a girl it is challenging for me, so I shouldn't expect much otherwise.

In order to be more productive, I signed up for an apartment with a guy named Nathan in my cohort. We'll have a place in the fall a few blocks from campus. We get along pretty well, so I think things should be fine. Should also save a good deal of money.

I've also been going to the gym now at minimum three times a week for over a month now and got my weight over 170 again without change in my diet. I've also been doing boxing for about a month now and have gotten another person from my cohort, the other of the two Nathans, to join me. Actually hitting something now, so it's more interesting.
