Reminds me vaguely of those tedious classes I have to take.

Classes? And what classes would those be?

Charms, Transfiguration, History of Magic, Defense Against the Dark Arts...et cetera.

[So yes, he's now looking quite excited.]

Are these all classes dealing with magic?

[here, have an incredibly sarcastic wizard]

No, not in the slightest. They're all Muggle studies, having nothing to do with magic.

[This would be that sarcasm, passing right over his head.]

'Muggle studies'?

The non-magical type.

Yes, they're all to do with magic. I'm a bloody wizard. The heir to one of the more well-known families, too.

A wizard? [Ponder, ponder.]

I suppose magic must work differently in your world. I wonder, is that most like a mage or sage? Or is it closer to the magic of a shaman or druid?

I couldn't tell you. I don't know the magic of that lot.

So the magics are indeed entirely different between our two worlds.

Well, would you be willing to give a demonstration of your magic?

Reply

mudbloodhater March 11 2010, 03:04:11 UTC
Anything specific you want me to do?

scholastical March 11 2010, 03:12:52 UTC
Oh, I truly don't know. What are you capable of doing?

Reply

mudbloodhater March 11 2010, 03:15:21 UTC
Anything from menial pyrotechnics to killing curses.

Really? That is quite the impressive range.

Well, any demonstration would be invaluable, I am sure. What are the spells you most commonly use?

Lighting charms, summoning charms, hover charms and the like.

[he pulls out his wand, giving it a wave as he turns the Dreamberry to follow a book nearby as it rises off the table and begins turning loops in mid-air, then carefully drops back down. It catches fire a few inches off, the flames quickly burning away to reveal the still-pristine tome.]

Impressive! Shall I assume that that wooden apparatus is the catalyst that allows you to perform such 'charms'?
