There was a scarecrow, and it took me by surprise. I hadn't expected there to be semi-sentient, man-made creatures here, though truly, that is quite fascinating, really.

He was trying to bring dragons back into the world. That would not have ended well, however; humans and dragons do not have a history of peaceful coexistance, I am afraid.
