[The dreamberry clicks on, and the face of the man that peers into it is excited...Though if one looks closely, there is a fresh, spreading bruise across one of his temples. He had a bit of a run-in with a malicious scarecrow.

Still, his excitement is unmistakable.]

Goodness, is this--

It is recording my voice, isn't it? But such a device has only ( Read more... )

Curious, aren't you? I'm going to guess you're a scientist of some sort.

[Hint of disdain in his voice? No, you imagined it. ♥]

[Hint of disdain? Completely unnoticed.]

Oh, I am merely a simple scholar. But I do love to learn new things.

[... a scholar could be of use. Noted.]

Is that so? And where might you come from, if you aren't familiar with a typical device resembling a cell phone?

...A 'cell phone'? A small compartment, or small home, or-- And a unit of sound, especially speech...Ah.

No, there isn't anything quite like this back in my home. I'm from Ilia, from the continent of Elibe.

Oh, my name is Canas. It's nice to meet you...?

Your guesses are a bit far-off.

Unfortunately, those don't exactly ring a bell. Though I wouldn't be against learning more.

Mukuro Rokudo. Pleased to meet you.

Would you mind perhaps explaining what, exactly, a cell phone is then?

You aren't familiar with Elibe? Hmm...

Are you, perhaps, from a different world? It isn't too far of a stretch to say, if this is a different world, that there are people from others, I suppose.

It's essentially the same as what you're using right now. Except it's lacking a certain interesting function that this Dreamberry has.

That's right. I'm surprised at how easily you came to that conclusion.

...What function might that be?

Oh, well, it isn't a large jump to make, knowing that there are different worlds. Certainly, there could be an infinite amount of other worlds that people live in.

I'm sure you'll figure it out in time. It's rather unusual.

Of course. But is it typical where you're from to know that there are multiple worlds?

[He's a little confused why you won't just tell him.]

Oh, well, there are two worlds that we know of back home, if they can be called that, yes.

Really... But you speak of these 'worlds' as if their definitions are still in the works. Why is that?

Oh, well, we have yet to study the world of the dragons, so...It would be premature to define it as such without more extensive observation.

Dragons? For such interesting creatures, I wonder why you would deign to leave their world alone.

Ah...I most certainly agree, and while I would simply love to study the dragons, I am afraid they were sealed away, so to speak, and it is therefore a little...difficult.
